I've had one of these since the mid-70s, when I bought it used at a junk shop. Mine finally gave up the ghost about 5 years ago. I've always wondered what kind of battery materials they used, since I've never had a carbon-zinc or alkaline battery last even a quarter (or an eighth) as long!

I have the one my mom bought for her '69 WV Beetle to keep in the glovebox.
And it still lights up too!!

I have had one of these and the ad from which I ordered it since (I think) the late 1960's. I am wondering if I'm just naive to be so amazed that it still lights up !
