My dad asked for one of these for Christmas since his battery finally went. Can't find one like it anywhere!

I inherited this from my dad. Until a kitten ate at the wires it worked perfictly. I want it to work again for my grandson.

HUH...THIS LIGHT LOOKS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE "FIRST ALERT" RECHARGEABLE...MADE BY "PITTWAY" WONDER IF ONE OF THEIR RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES WOULD FIT IT...PROVIDING YOU COULD FIND ONE...HMM..

I have had one of these for about 25 + years. The battery has finally said it is leaving. Has anyone come up with a new battery or a light as good?

My batts gave up also. Batts seem to be 1.25 ni-cads bulb is 2.4 volts. Suggest go to RS (take it apart and take unit with you) and check if c-cells are same size, batts seem to be same size, I dont have any handy to check. Try to get batts with solder tabs. Watch plus and minus when making pack. Will check back in a couple days and see how you did.

Wow, someone else has one of these. I tried replacing the battery in consulttion with a surly clerk at a batteries+ store and $18 later it didn't work. I'm going to still try since the charger works. I think it's just a matter of finding the right rechargeable. I've not been able to find a rechargeable that is at all close to this great model.

Can the battery be replaced & if so, where can it bought? This has been an excellent emergency light for 26 years & hate to give it up!
