Not sure if this particular unit is 1930 - the overall design may be. However this particular model looks like it has a slide switch on the back (just visible at top - to right of centre-line). I would be inclined to put date closer to 1970 on it. My recall of these lamps (in Ireland) was that they had a Knob on top (Between where the two rivets are on the example above) which was screwed down to turn on the lamp. "Later" models (early 1970's) had a plastic knob which was turned from side to side. The above looks like another variant. All of the ones I recall were black in colour - think I saw a grey one once - again seemed like a "recent" addition. I imagine production had stopped by 1980.
