This flashlight actually uses 4x AA batteries. I still have mine, minus lanyard. I found it the other day, stashed in a box in my parents' attic. This was the best light in the world when I was a kid - unfortunately mine does not turn on anymore. The original Satellite F4T5D lamp was very white - almost blueish tint. I replaced the lamp last week but that did not fix it. The circuitry is very simple and I will be trying to replace the regulator first and then the step up transformer if the regulator is not the issue. Aside from the very bright white light, the second best thing going for this flashlight was how tiny it was. You can't find them like this any more.
