I have a model 1653 that was my grandmother's, we used to play with it when we were kids. I would like to find a new lamp for it. Any suggestions?

I recently bought the base of this electric candle for .25 cents. I would like to know about finding a new lamp, batteries, and how the batteries fit. Any help would be appreciated. I bought it because it appeared to be unique - had been being used as a candle holder.

I have always been able to get #1173 bulb at Radio Shack. It is a 3 volt bulb I believe. I did use a 2.5 bulb once which is alot brighter and burns out quickly.
