YOU CAN TELL BY THE CLOTH SILKY LINING IN THE BOX...THIS LIGHT WAS HIGH END AN PROBABLY COST A FORTUNE BACK THEN....I AM SURPRISED THEY HAD RECHARGEABLES BACK THEN...WHEN I WAS 2....LOL...BUT A NICE LIGHT OVERALL...I WOULDNT THINK THE BATTERY WOULD STILL HOLD A CHARGE THOUGH....AN WHERE TO GET A NEW ONE? GOOD LUCK...

My grandparents had one of these in their home when I was a kid. The battery recharge rate never died out. Nice, durable piece of workmanship!
