I have this lamp, but with a different switch! Instead of the slide switch shown, I have a bakelite knob, approx. 1" diam., 1/2" tall, that is a rotate switch. A rotate switch vs. a slide switch have nothing in common. Two totally different animals. I am wondering if the early 4708 came out with the slide switch, which can accidently be turned on and off, even while packed away. The rotary bakelite switch is a little more fool proof . . . rarely being accidently turned on/off, would have been a natural progression in improvement. Are there other collectors that have run across this configuration?
