@WARRAN..FORGOT TO SAY...WITH ALL MY BLABBIN..YES..THEY DO SELL RETROFIT LED BULBS..FOR ABOUT 10 BUX AT WALMART...I BOUGHT A COUPLE AN CONVERTED A FEW OLD FLASHLIGHTS INTO LED ONES...AN ITS OK...BUT THE BEAM FOCUS ISNT GREAT..KINDA SPREAD OUT AN THE BRITENESS IS SO-SO...ITS BETTER TO BUY A LIGHT THATS ALREADY LED TO START WITH...BUT FOR THE CANDLE THING...YES...I THINK IT WOULD WORK GOOD....SINCE YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FOCUS AN IT WOULD GO MUCH FARTHER ON BATTERY POWER...IF WALMART DONT HAVE THEM ANYMORE..TRY RADIO SHACK OR A LIGHTING PLACE ONLINE...GOOD LUCK..

THIS IS REALLY A GREAT IDEA..IM SURPRISED I DONT SEE THESE IN STORES EVERYWHERE..ONLY DIFFERENCE I WOULD MAKE..."A THICKER CANDLE WITH TWO "D" SIZE BATTERIES AN AS WARRAN SAID...'A THREE WATT LED BULD" THAT NEVER WEARS OUT AN GIVES REAL BRITE WHITE LIGHT...WITH A FROSTED GLOBE..SO IT DONT BLIND YA...THAT WOULD BE GREAT...LEDS ARE THE FUTURE...MY NEW STANLY LED 5 WATT SPOTLIGHT IS SO FREAKIN BRITE..IT BLOWS AWAY MY OLD 6 "D" CELL MAGLITE IN BRIGHTLESS..WITH THE OLD HALOGEN BULBS...NO COMPARISON..PLUS...ITS SO MUCH BETTER ON BATTERY POWER....

HAVING DIFFICULTY REMOVING THE EXISTING BULB, i HAVE THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS. i HAVE THE COVER OFF AND THE BULB IS EXPOSED BUT the bulb won't turn or come out. Also is a LED bulb available for these candles? This would extend battery life by a large amount.

I own two of these (I remember buying them on sale for a few bucks each) and they still work great. The pieces that make up the top part do have a tendency to come unsnapped and fall apart very easily and it's a bit tricky to manuveur the candle bulb into staying on, but once you get it set up and turned on, the Eveready Electric Candle will "burn" for several hours on its power (supplied by two AA batteries). If it's the only light source in the room, it's pretty bright.
I used one of these during Hurricane Rita and it was very calming to have the "candle" burning during the storm.
