Night light is a nice added feature for bedside. These fluorescent lanterns are being phased out of production because of "mercury" used in the lamps. This makes no sense because household compact fluorescent light bulbs are being pushed on the public while incandescent lamps (no mercury) are being outlawed. Look for these lanterns to be on sale and purchase a few while still around. You won't regret it.
