My kid shined one of these directly in my eye at close range back in 2001 and I have been blind in that eye ever since. I only looked at it for a couple seconds, the unit had an INFRARED LED in it. Infrared light will burn your retina leaving permanent scars. I could not find a lawyer to take the case, Didn't want any money, just wanted the infrared light issue fixed.
