Brian on Aug 12, 2010 - 6:33 PM I have one of this model. The way it works is kind of fascinating. On the spot setting, the little shade cylinder stays down and the light is focused by the reflector. When you turn on the flood setting, the cylinder moves up, and the little lens in the center acts as a diffuser. Mine has a huge dent on the end cap, though. My Grandfather dropped it down the stairs, and it rolled all the way out the front door and dropped off the porch.
