I have one like this. Very good light, esp with a Xenon bulb. It shines a good half-mile, better than a Maglite. They make a cheaper one now, plastic instead of quality rubber (China) at Lowes hardware.

Now this is a lantern! I was at my friends cottage with my girlfriend at that time, and although I brought a couple of lights along for the trip, I felt the need to spoil myself with a good lantern. A few of our friends were going to town, about an hour away, and I asked them if they could pick me up a good lantern if I gave them the money. Yes was the word, of course, and within a few hours just before dark, they returned with one of these Z Lanterns by Lumilite! Oh, it was great! Terrific rubber covering, which gave it protection against any falls and bumps. It also keeps all the water out as it floats around your dock.

The beam is really great! Reaching far into the night, with a true center spot beam and a good amount of overspill. The switch is tough and realiable, and I liked the "kickstand". You get it. Last, and not least at all, is the great rubber handle. My hand feels very comfy holding this light, and that's not common with a lot of lanterns out there.

Great work Lumilite!
