Since the receipt of my first D-cell Maglite in 1996 (looks just like the picture above), I have sworn by these things. The overall toughness, the anodized, machined and knurled metal finishes, the focusing reflector... the Maglite is everything I could ask for in a flashlight. Simply one of the best works of industrial art originally designed in 1979. The Maglite, living up to its longest-running slogan, is: "A Work Of Art That Works."
