Patented Jan. 4, 1916 by John A. Petrie as a "Telescopic Combined Portable Flashlight and Writing Pad". It was sold in several versions, including for use as a Boy Scout light for signaling, and a Red Celluloid lens was available for use a photo safe light in dark rooms. I collect anything made by Petrie-Lewis Manufacturing Co., New Haven, Conn. I seek advertising flyers, letters, and other documentation for my museum collection and book research. Will buy or trade.
