The story told is that Rayovac gold plated 50 two cell lights and were giving them as promotions. A co in New Orleans received one and I have the other. It doesn't look as old as this one, and I never saw a box. My dad was one that may not have kept it. But it's never had a battery in it. Really thought with the price of gold, it would be worth more. Anyway, this is the first one other than mine I have seen. Thanks for your time. I have two of these lights in fair cosmetic condition (excellent working condition with krypton-bulb upgrades). I'd love to have one as pictured, mint, with the presentation box. I live in Wisconsin and these are a kind of heritage item for me.
