my girlfriend (who is now my wife) found one of these between the refrigerator and cabinet under the sink in her parent's house. God knows how long it had been there. she handed it to me and i turned it on it worked but the batteries were weak and the contacts needed to be cleaned, so it only gave off a very dim light. it was lost once again and i have no clue where it went to.

Yes, I would say the PR bulb was much more durable (and brighter) then the flashlight host itself.

One of the worst flashlights made , the switch malfunctioned on almost every one within days of use ! We bought a dozen of these for our crew at work and none made it a month . The only good part was the bright Krypton bulb !
