I'm also in Canada so maybe it is a Canadian version. You'll never find this sort of quality anymore for an every day flashlight and only pay 5 dollars. It has the same oval shaped tag and square flash button , maybe it's a Canadian version. I also have a little older and smaller 2C cell version . Bought them both in a thrift store , they're both great.
