A TL-122-A is an early WWII issue flashlight, fairly quickly replaced by the plastic/ resin body TL-122-B (and C and D). A TL-122-A shouldn't have any chrome on it, as these were intended for combat use. Still, because they were painted metal, rub spots down to bare metal are fairly common. According to at least one web site, TL-122-A's are among the rarer of the TL-122 family, and USALite models rarer than some others within that cohort (many more were made by Eveready).
