DALE...IF THE BATTERIES SLIDE OUT THE END.....TRY USING A VERY STRONG MAGNET TO PULL THEM OUT..IF THE BATTERIES LEAKED AN CORRODED IN THE LIGHT...AN NOW FUSED TO THE SIDES...THEN YOU REALLY HAVE A BIG PROBLEM...MAY HAVE TO TOSS THE LIGHT OR GET A PROFESSIONAL TO FIX IT...BUT NEVER STORE BATTERIES IN A "GOOD" LIGHT...ONLY PUT THEM IN WHEN YOU NEED TOO....BUY A "ECONOMY" DOLLAR LIGHT TO KEEP BATTERIES IN...THEN IF BATTERIES LEAKS...NO BIG DEAL...TOSS IT AN BUY A NEW ONE...GOOD LUCK...

The battery case is just under the seat belt cutter. Just twist it counter clockwise and it screws out. If you need more leverage, push the cap back on and twist it instead.
