Flashlights : NightStar (2)

1997-Present. NightStar, the world's first magnetic force flashlight, uses no batteries or incandescent bulbs and never requires maintenance. Simply shaking NightStar causes a high strength, rare earth magnet to repeatedly pass through a wire coil. The electrical energy generated is stored in a capacitor. Superior to a battery, the capacitor can be recharged hundreds of thousands of times, will never corrode and will power the LIght Emitting Diode (LED) even under extreme temperatures. Equally impressive, the LED has a rated lifetime over 50,000 hours and is nearly unbreakable. All of NightStar's state-of the art components are contained in a polycarbonate housing, which is waterproof, corrosion proof and virtually indestructible. Even after years of abuse and neglect, NightStar can be counted on to light the way.
